Cottonwood
is nestled in a valley between the Mingus Mountains and the red rocks of Sedona. The town serves as the economic hub of the Verde Valley. Both the City of Cottonwood and Yavapai County have established Industrial Development Authorities to promote industry, develop trade and provide for a clean environment by creating incentives for manufacturing, industrial and commercial enterprises to locate in the Verde Valley. The Cottonwood/Sedona area has long been recognized as a tourist destination, and has experienced rapid growth in the past few years. Therefore it has attracted the attention of various commercial and industrial developers. This factor has created a strong labor market for potential employers. Cottonwood currently has a population of 20,000. The Verde Valley's population is approximately 55,000.
